Pertamina Goes to Campus Opens New Energy Insights to More Than 500 Riau Students
Jakarta, 29 October 2024 – Pertamina Goes to Campus (PGTC) 2024 Roadshow series in Indonesia this time was quite special because it was packed with more than 500 students who enthusiastically participated in the activities until the end of the event. The activity held at the University of Riau (UNRI) on October 29, 2024, carried the theme "Energizing The Future Together - Refining The New Energy". This theme carries the spirit related to the Youth Pledge moment and the spirit of the 7th Anniversary of the Pertamina International Refinery (KPI) as a company that continues to be committed to reducing carbon emissions and carrying Green Energy.
KPI Human Resources & Corporate Services Director Tenny Elfrida said innovation is the key to achieving green energy and sustainable energy transformation.
"We continue to encourage innovators, including students at UNRI, to contribute to creating new innovations that are environmentally friendly and efficient in managing energy resources. We believe that collaboration between industry, academics, and government is a strong foundation for realizing this transformation," said Tenny, who was also one of the speakers at this event.
PGTC was held with the spirit of providing insight and inspiration on how to build a sustainable career, create sustainable energy solutions, and implement educational practices that strengthen energy resilience while still prioritizing environmental sustainability.
The Chancellor of the University of Riau, Prof. Dr. Sri Indarti, SE, M.Si expressed her appreciation for Pertamina's steps in holding the PGTC event as proof that Pertamina continues to be committed to the sustainability of the world of education in Indonesia.
"It is an honor for us to be one of the hosts of the 2024 PGTC event. This momentum is very important for us to open up opportunities for collaboration and develop innovation programs that are beneficial for the better for our nation and future generations," explained Sri.
PGTC 2024 divided the event into 3 insightful event sessions, the first with the theme "Green Energy: Synergizing Academic and Industrial Alliances For Enhance Energy Resilience" which was filled by the Chancellor of UNRI and also Tenny Elfrida as the Director of HR & Corporate Services KPI.
The second session, raising the digital side with the theme "Navigating The Digitalization Landscape To Empower Indonesia's Energy Efficiency & Transformation" presented experts in their fields including the Director General of Public Information and Communication, Komdigi RI, Dr. Prabunindya Revta Revolusi, S.T., M.I.K, Expert Staff for Inter-Institutional Relations, Ministry of Manpower Dr. Ruslan Irianto Simbolon, S.E., M.M, and influencer Malaikha Dayanara Kridaman.
In the last session, raising the theme "KPI Recruitment & Alumni UNRI Insight For Global Competitiveness", an interactive discussion was immediately held between students and UNRI alumni who were inspired to work and contribute in the world of work. Not only that, this time PGTC also opened an interactive booth where all students can get more detailed information about the company comprehensively from the KPI, Human Capital, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) booths.
PGTC is part of a collaborative approach to address the challenges of the energy trilemma. Pertamina has also implemented concrete steps to answer these challenges and invites the academic community to collaborate towards sustainable Indonesian energy.
KPI is a subsidiary of Pertamina which runs its main business of oil and petrochemical processing in accordance with the ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) principles. KPI has also been registered with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and is committed to the Ten Universal Principles or Ten Principles of UNGC in its operational strategy as part of the implementation of ESG aspects. KPI will continue to run its business professionally to realize its vision of becoming a world-class Oil Refinery and Petrochemical Company that is environmentally aware, socially responsible and has good corporate governance.
